Summer of Fun – Day 8 – Creeking

Sometimes, we love putting on our old clothes, grabbing our water shoes, picking my camera up and heading down or upstream. It never gets old and it never looks the same twice!

Creeking is one of our all-time favorites things to do!

Summer of Fun – Day 7 – The Double-Header

Did you enjoy walking through the park yesterday? Wasn’t it sooo relaxing? It was for us too! I’m glad you stopped in today. Do I have a story to tell you!

This is a double-header in that we did one activity during the day and one in the evening.

Summer of Fun – Day 5 – Water Balloon Hot Potato (a new take on an old game)

Today’s activity is a new spin on the old game Hot Potato. Do you remember playing that as a kid? I do, too! It’s HOT!  Going swimming or playing with water goes hand in hand with hot. That’s how we came up with this idea for a new twist on an old game. Come on in and see how to play!

Summer of Fun – Day 4 – Baking Together

For day 4, we’re jumping into the kitchen and baking together. I don’t know what it is about spending time in the kitchen with my kids, but it’s one of my all-time favorite things to do. Maybe it’s the way they interact with each other. Maybe it’s all the shenanigans going on. They are always giving each other snarky (in fun of course) comments and teasing each other. Whatever it is, it makes me smile and laugh every.single.time!!  One day they’re going to leave the nest and are going to need to know how to take care of themselves. So, cooking and baking skills are NOT a bad thing. Right? Right!

Summer of Fun – Day 3 – FREE

Here we are on Day 3 of Summer of Fun. Today has been quite a day. Of course, we rolled our die last night and were all set for what was to take place today, but as often happens, things happened. Know what I mean? After a few detours, we finally made it to our free day. What does a ‘free’ day look like? Well, mostly its everyone choosing what they want to do. Come on in and find out what we did!

Summer of Fun – Day 2 – Building Bridges

Today for Summer of Fun, we’re going to be exploring another building project – building bridges. There are so many different types of bridges: arch, truss, beam, cantilever, suspension, and beyond. Each bridge has its own design and purpose, but what they all have in common is they must hold a certain amount of weight in order to be structurally sound and that’s where we’ve decided to place our focus

Summer of Fun 2018 – Day 1 – Wind Racers

Welcome to day one of Summer of Fun 2018! Wanting to spend quality time is where it all started and for lack of a better name, I simply called it Summer of Fun. It started out as something I wanted to try but quickly turned into a must for all of us. Sometime around April, everyone starts asking when we’re going to create the list and so it begins.

What Anger Does at Sundown

When you’re holding onto anger, stop and ask yourself what the deeper feeling may be that you’re unaware of. Anger is often a surface emotion for another feeling we don’t want to acknowledge. I found this gem of a post about anger and just had to share it with you.

Summer: Where Does the Time Go- The 3 Be’s of Support

There are times in life where we just need to be. Where we can’t DO anything or SAY anything because neither of those things would help. Have you ever read the book of Job? In a nutshell, it’s about a man who has it all: family, a good reputation, a good home, respect from the…… Continue reading Summer: Where Does the Time Go- The 3 Be’s of Support
