Are you ever silly?
I mean silly as in making yourself and those around you get their full belly laugh on?
Being Silly comes in lots of different ways.
Ever thought about that?
Breaking out your best dance moves in the middle of the grocery
Making funny faces at your kids
Talking in silly voices just to get a laugh
Selfies – oh yes, let’s not forget taking silly selfies
Mimicking a ducks waddle
Crazy dancing in the car
Well, those may have been MY ways of being silly (tee hee hee)
Someone famous once said something about one really effective weapon the human race has…. OH WAIT…I know, it was
Do you remember doing word associations in school?
You know phrases where they gave you two words that were associated and a third word you had to figure out what is was associated with? They looked like this:
Rain is to cloud as Boat is to ______ (Water)
Leaf is to tree as Grape is to ______ (vine)
Right?! You remember!
Same applies here to being silly
Negativity is to sadness as Silliness is to ______ ?
What is silliness to?
LAUGHTER OF COURSE
Silliness induces laughter. Laughter is considered ‘nature’s medicine’. So, what are some of the proven benefits?
•Laughter triggers the release of endorphins – the body’s natural ‘feel good’ hormones.
•Laughter relaxes the body and relieves tension.
•Laughter boosts the immune system by decreasing stress hormones and increasing immune cells and disease and infection-fighting antibodies.
•Laughter protects your heart by improving the function of blood vessels and increasing blood flow, both of which can help protect you from heart problems.
It’s okay to want to be silly,
When day-to-day life can be pilly,
It just takes a word
Or a drawing absurd
To lighten your day willy-nilly!
I’m challenging you to #GoBeSilly. Don’t worry about what others think. Just do it! The laughter will do you and the world good! Take whatever opportunity you can get to get your silly on. Share your silly by using #GoBeSilly; Now, #GOBESILLY!
