30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 9 – A Home Is Built in the Heart, Not Cement

What a week we’ve had, huh? We’ve talked about sounds, nature, memories and books and how each of those can be something we are grateful for.

I am loving this challenge. Are you? I hope so. I’ve seen several peeps posting their days on Facebook (thanks for using and hash-tagging #30DayGratitudeChallenge and #Justbitsandpieces).

I never thought I would look at such simple things as something to be grateful for, but now I’m understanding how important even the smallest of things in my life are. It’s truly a blessing to walk through each day and notice even simple things that make my life better.

We’re talking  a PLACE we’re grateful for today

Home is where the heart is, not just a dwelling

I am most grateful for HOME.

Home means many different things to many different people.

For me, it’s not just the dwelling I live in. It’s more.

It’s where my loved ones are. Where my heart lives.

Home is what feels comfortable, warm, inviting, engaging.

It’s where I am free to be who I am without pretense. These things don’t necessarily happen in just a place, but a place that is filled with people I love and who love me.

Home is also a place where friends become family because they are treated with the same exquisite compassion and love. Where laughter is the norm, not the exception.

The friends and family around me build the place I call Home. The brick and mortar are simply a bonus.

These people in my life love me just as I am, just where I am, just how I am. That for me is a place I love to be. A place I long to be when I’m away. A place I’m grateful for.

♥ A Home truly IS where the heart is; home is a place built in the heart, not cement! ♥

What place are grateful for?
