30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 2 – Technology, It’s a Love-Hate Relationship

How did everyone do finding a smell to be grateful for yesterday? Did you find yourself noticing more smells than usual? I did too! It’s kind of weird how we notice things more when we focus on them. I guess it’s sort of like looking for the good and finding it.

It’s kind of weird how we notice things more when we focus on them. I guess it’s sort of like looking for the good and finding it.

Today we’re talking about technology we’re grateful for.

Can I just take a minute here and tell you, my relationship with technology is a love-hate one. There are days I think, WOW! Then there are days I think, UGH! Other times I wonder how in the world I survived as a kid without all this technology. Then there are times I think why in the world do kids need all this technology?

See, love-Hate.

Looking Back to the First Home Dinosaur Computer

I remember the first computer we had in our house. Geesh! Talk about a dinosaur. Of course, when we first got it we were all like, Oooh, THIS IS AWESOME!!! Look what it can do! It was slower than a snail in January, but we thought it was amazing! It beeped and booped us right into the age of technology one slow processing minute at a time.

Now, our computers fit in the palms of our hands. Who would’ve ever thought that would be a thing? Isn’t technology wonderful, when it’s not honking us off!? 🙂

So I’ve been thinking about today’s challenge prompt.

What technology am I grateful for?

I would have to say, MY PHONE

Here’s why.

  • My phone allows me to talk to my kids anytime I want to, er any time they want me too (stop ignoring my calls kids! 😉 ).
  • My phone allows me to carry my calendar  of appointments, schedules, deadlines, and everything in between everywhere I go (geesh, can I slow down a bit)
  • My phone gives me the ability to check my email regularly and with all this wonderful technology I have several email accounts (why do I have so many email accounts? Geesh!)
  • When I walk out of the house without my camera, no worries, my phone has a pretty good camera. I never have to miss a photo op (now that’s a good reason to be grateful for technology)

I’m sure there are other reasons why I’m grateful for my phone but I think these are the 4 biggies! They may not be the best reasons, but hey, they are reasons, right? For each of the reasons I am grateful for my phone, I can probably find one or more reasons I’m not all about my phone. We’ll save that for another day, another post.

Grateful for my phone

Well, that about sums it up for me.

What technology did you find to be grateful for today?

See you next time,

♥ Robyn
