Getting to Know – Nourish-Your-Skin

I think things are starting to fire back up here on the ol’ blog. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed being here with all of you.  I think we are finally in the clear from that nasty little hacking incident a month back. (please, if you see anything that sends up a red-flag from here contact me immediately at justbitsandpieces15@gmail.com) 🙂

So before the “incident”, I had agreed to try some new products and write a review, well today I finally get to share that review with you!! HOORAY!

Nourish-Your-Skin came in the mail and I got all excited. I love supporting local (okay, not my local, but it’s somebody’s local) suppliers and entrepreneurs.

In my sample package I received: lip balm, 2 hand soaps, lotion, and a bottle of shampoo. What to try first? That was the first question I asked myself. Then it hit me, DUH it’s winter which always reeks havoc on my lips (dry, cracked lips is not an attractive look, trust me) Which led me to trying the lip balm first (I’m not always logical but when I am it makes quite logical sense) 😉

Products that I’m falling in love with:

Lip Balm: Bubble Gum Flavor

Lets start by reading the label:  Well here’s a plus, I can pronounce every one of the ingredients which says a lot for the product before I even put it on my lips. I hate when I get a product and 50% or more of the ingredients are things I cannot pronounce let alone know what they are. So, we were off to a great start!

I opened the cap, twisted the product up a bit, and made two quick swipes across my lips. Instant relief. It was smooth, silky, and so comforting to my poor dry lips. I rubbed my lips together and it was dreamy! Now, here’s the thing, I usually bite or lick off any product I put on my lips, whether lipstick or chap-stick, so my big question was…WILL IT LAST?

Two hours later, I could rub my lips together and still feel this lovely lip balm working it’s magic. It was heavenly. I haven’t stopped using it since that first time. As a matter of fact, it’s probably time to order new.

Goats Milk Lotion

Folks, this stuff is the bomb diggity!! I love the smell of it. It’s almost calming as I put it on. Again, the ingredients are all things I know of and can pronounce – BONUS! These lotions pack Goats milk, Rose Water,Camellia oil,Grape Seed oil, sweet Almond oil, jojoba oil, mango butter, Fragrance, preservative and more.

The lotion is light and airy and makes my skin feel fabulous. It is not a bit greasy and quickly soaks in making my hands feel like silk! When I first put it on I wasn’t sure I was going to see results (lets be honest, I am terrible at taking care of my skin so it’s in pretty rough shape) but within just a few uses I noticed a huge difference in how my skin was starting to look and feel. Mr. Right says it smells like suntan lotion…that’s not a bad thing in my opinion.

Soaps

By now you all know how important the ingredients are to me well these soaps fit the bill as they include Sweet Almond,Castro oil, coconut oil,Shea butter, Extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil, etc. “This is a good thing” to quote Martha Stuart.

Since I received two I placed one in my downstairs bathroom and one in my upstairs bathroom (oh aren’t I just all uppity with my two bathrooms). Here’s something you may not know about me, I’m pretty picky about my hand soaps. There is nothing worse, in my opinion, than needing to wash my hands and having a soap that leaves me feeling less clean than when I started. No worries here. These soaps lathered up like a horse just finishing a race but in a much nicer and cleaner manner. The smell lasts for quite sometime after you wash your hands (love that). I’m not a soap expert but I love the fact that each time I wash my hands I don’t end up all cracked and chapped. I’m guessing the natural oils in the soap have something to do with that. I’m not disappointed, I can tell you that

Shampoo

Last product I actually tried (I’m not ashamed to admit it) was the shampoo. I have such fine hair I was afraid. I’ve mistreated my hair for years with products, coloring, and heat and was worried about what might happen. But…I said I would review all the products… soooo true to my word, I picked it up and yep, you guessed it,  read the ingredients which included: Sweet Almond oil,Cocoa Butter,Hemp oil, coconut oil, castor oil,Glycerin,Horsetail,Burdock root, Calendula, Cedar Wood Atlas Essential oil, and Lavender Essential oil.

OK, all of the other products were fantabulous, why would this one be any different? Into the shower I went, grabbed that bottle of shampoo and thought, here we go. My first reaction was I didn’t care for the scent. My second reaction was it didn’t do too bad in the cleaning department. What I did find was I can only use it about once a week sort of like a residue remover. After using this shampoo for several days in a row I noticed my hair was starting to become very dry (now there’s something I don’t experience often as I have oily hair).

So I started a regimen of a store bought shampoo for every day but one and my hair has never looked better. I’m impressed with this shampoo and it’s ability to actually clean my scalp and hair shafts. I am finally getting a healthy head of hair!

Final Review

I don’t think you would be disappointed with these products. The delivery was fast, the products were wonderful and I love the all natural ingredient aspect that Nourish-Your-Skin uses. As I looked through the shop I was also impressed with prices. It’s a great value for great products! I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything did it’s job and how wonderful my skin is starting to look from using these products.

I encourage you to check out the store and the Facebook page. You’re gonna love what these products do for you! OK, we’re finished here so you’re free to go to the website now!! 🙂
