If you’re on social media then I’m sure you’ve seen the quiz about finding your word for this year, 2016.
I’ve taken that quiz and amazingly enough my word ended up being the exact word I chose for myself.
I also did a bible devotion called One Word That Will Change Your Life which again called me to this one word.
I’ve mentioned before how I tend to take steps back and allow others to go before me. While this is not a bad thing, it can be a stifling thing.
This year will be different.
This year, I will allow myself to SHINE. Yep., that’s my one word for this year.
Shine by definition is to
“give out a bright light,”
“be very talented or perform very well,”
“a quality of brightness, especially from reflected light”
All of those things are going to be me this year!
Through my action and deed I want to shine.
I want to be very talented and perform well on my blog and photography.
I want to give off a bright light in my marriage, my parenting, and at my job.
I want to be a quality of brightness among family, friends, and even strangers as I reflect the values I hold.
Even when I’m broken, and let’s face it, who isn’t, I want to be the person whose light is so bright that even through fragments of my brokenness my light still shines for all to see.
and that’s my one minute mind
