Celebrating Post 100 and Facing Fears

CELEBRATING
Today I celebrate my 100th post!!
100!!
That seems surreal to me.
Looking back I remember being so intimidated, unsure, and quite honestly afraid when I first decided I wanted to start a blog.
Many things ran through my mind.
Many self-defeating thoughts controlled my mind
BUT
I took a nice deep breath, stepped out in faith and joined Sarah and Kevin Arrow’s
How in the world was I going to find enough things to write about?
Why would anyone be interested in what I had to say?
What did I know about blogging?
NOTHING!
I knew nothing about blogging, and yet, here I am today putting up
post number 100!!
Interestingly enough, me talking about how afraid I was to start blogging coincides with National Face Your Fears Day!
I know, what a coincidence!!
I suppose it doesn’t matter if your fear is starting a blog or staring down a spider whose decided to share your shower.
Fears can stop us in our tracks and keep us from the greatness we were created to achieve.
We ARE created to achieve greatness.
No matter your fear, I encourage you to step out in faith and know that you are not alone!
Need a little more help?
Try these lovely scripture based affirmations from Kyle Winkler Ministries
(they work or I wouldn’t be passing them on to you!! 2nd Timothy 1:7 is my fave!!)

♥Read them

♥Write them

♥Post them
♥Speak them
1 Peter 5:6–7, ESV
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Speak It!
I humble myself before God and trust that He will promote me in the right time. I cast all of my worries, fears and anxieties on Him, because He cares for me.

Philippians 4:6–7, ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Speak It!
I’m not anxious about anything. Instead, I make my request known to God through prayer and thanksgiving. The peace of God guards my heart and my mind in ways that I can’t even understand.

John 14:27, ESV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Speak It!
I have the peace of Jesus, which is far better than what the world offers, and so my heart is not troubled or afraid.

Romans 8:15, ESV
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Speak It!
I have the Holy Spirit and He has freed me from fear. I’m not afraid of anything because I’m protected and taken care of as a child of God.

Psalm 23:4, ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Speak It!
Even when I’m in a dark valley, I fear no evil, because God is with me. His rod and staff comfort me.

2 Timothy 1:7, ESV
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Speak It!
God has not given me a spirit of fear or shyness. Instead, I have power, love and self-control.

  1. Oh, my goodness… I so well recall my first blog. it was on Myspace… I kept noticing I had a place for blogs on my page and it was empty, so I devised a plan to write four stories, post them in succession, and call it a writing career… My first one was called, “Why I Hate Evil Clowns.”

My original plan went out the window, as I did not stop at four blogs. I lost count a long time ago, but it is well over a thousand… It seems I got carried away.

As for the fear factor, it was there, and still is, when I occasionally post a poem in a quiet little blog I keep, just to write for friends ans such. My goals have always been to try to be entertaining, never waste anyone’s time, and above all… don’t (insert word for being really bad.)

Congratulations on hitting the century mark. You must really be doing a lot of things right.

    1. Thanks Brenda! I have to agree that it can be challenging to stay motivated. I’m learning that creativity comes in many forms and ideas spark when I least expect them! Thanks for stopping by; I enjoyed your comment!
