My One Minute Mind

my one minute mind

We are becoming calloused. There’s so much and there seems no end in sight.

Our hearts are hurting but I don’t think we’re aware.

Day after day we are bombarded with horrific things going on in this world. Shootings, terrorism, fires, kidnappings, missing persons, child prostitution rings, slavery, poverty and so much more.

It used to be when I heard of a tragedy my heart broke with the heavy sadness of it all; now I don’t want to even watch or listen. I don’t want to, but I do.  My heart can’t take any more.

There’s too much of it. It overwhelms my heart and I begin to feel helpless, hopeless.

Where does the madness stop? Where does the healing begin?

It begins with ME! I’m small and my reach isn’t far, but I have a heart that loves and longs for more than this world is right now.

The way I figure it, if I touch ONE, just one life in a positive way, I’ve made a difference in the larger scope of things.

You see, we may think we are in a pond too big for us to make a difference but a ripple travels much farther than the pebble that made it.

One drop of a tiny pebble can ripple out to places we cannot even see.

I want to be a pebble dropped in the pond and ripple far beyond my own reach.

One… it only takes one word of kindness; one shoulder to cry on; one smile to a passer-by; one hug to a friend; one laugh with a child; one mustard seed of faith; one opportunity…just one.

The ripple will travel farther than we could ever imagine or perhaps even consider.

Be the pebble that starts a ripple.

And That’s My One Minute Mind
